Toward a Pedagogy of Compassion: Why Students Laziness Does Not Exist

Dr. Devon Price, author of the new book Laziness Does Not Exist, presents a research-based approach to dismantle the “laziness lie” in college classrooms. In this talk, Dr. Price will address the psychological underpinnings of instructors’ perceptions of student motivation and provide the framework for a pedagogy of compassion. Emphasis on contextual factors that de-couple the implicit connection between productivity and perceptions of worth will be discussed.
